Darkness upon the horizon
As I dwell on today’s blessings, I often wonder how the day will end.
I am blessed to have my stable mind and a wonderful family that loves me, but as I see the days end, I
see darkness of thought as the sun sets.
I am blessed to have three grown professional daughters (KSK), and it came with a lot of sacrifice placing
my family before myself. Even though I am reaching the retirement age, I wonder again about the
generation that comes after my life. The Millennial generation are well prepared to take the mantle and
move this world into another realm.
Millennials in the United States of America are facing an inflation period while wrestling with the
international post pandemic, housing costs, high educational loans, family instability, discriminating
government corruptness, etc. This generation has multiple issues that raise a few questions I ponder;
How did the gas prices almost double in price per gallon in the 2 nd -Quarter will America be able to
restore the reserves? Has the Real Estate market hit a bubble and how much will the Real Estate market
decline? How long will I have to remain in the Stock Market to see consistent yields or should I place my
income into another vehicle?
I see so many boundaries (problems) that we face as a nation. When the Fed raises the federal funds
target rate, the goal is to increase the cost of credit throughout the economy. Higher interest rates
make loans more expensive for both businesses and consumers, and everyone ends up spending more
on interest payments.
As the sun sets in darkness with so many issues in this day, if I did not have God living in me and able to
enjoy this day fully, I would have stressed my mind into an abyss.
